This morning, the Daily Bread Food Bank released their Who’s Hungry 2012: Faces Of Hunger report. In it, they talk about how the need for food banks is sadly growing, not declining.
Some key findings from their survey:
- Food Bank visits in the GTA have risen 18% since 2008, to a total of 1,123,500 visits overall
- 25% of children go hungry at least once a week due to lack of money
- $5.83 is the amount of money available per person per day after rent is paid
The need is great.
Please consider helping us meet the need this Fall.
